ژن درمانی بینایی را به ۴ کودک بازگرداند

‏ژن‌درمانی جدید در #بیمارستان #مورفیلدز لندن به بهبود بینایی چهار کودک مبتلا به #نابینایی مادرزادی کمک کرده است. این کودکان پیش از درمان تنها قادر به تشخیص روشنایی و تاریکی بودند، اما اکنون برخی از آن‌ها می‌توانند اشکال مختلف را ترسیم کنند.

این روش با تزریق ژن‌های سالم به شبکیه چشم انجام شده و می‌تواند تاثیر مهمی در رشد کودکان داشته باشد.

چهار کودک از #آمریکا ، #ترکیه و #تونس در این مطالعه شرکت داشتند و تنها یک چشم هر کودک تحت درمان قرار گرفت. نتایج نشان داد که بینایی آن‌ها بهبود یافته، در حالی که چشم درمان‌نشده به مرور ضعیف‌تر شد.

پروفسور جیمز بینبریج #جراح متخصص شبکیه و #چشم‌پزشک در بیمارستان چشم مورفیلدز لندن این درمان را تحولی مهم دانسته و معتقد است که مداخله زودهنگام می‌تواند رشد و تعامل اجتماعی کودکان را متحول کند. مطالعات بیشتری برای ارزیابی تاثیرات بلندمدت این روش در حال انجام است.


The new gene therapy at #Morfields Hospital in London has helped to improve the vision of four children with #congenital blindness. These children were only able to detect light and darkness before treatment, but now some of them can draw different forms.

This method is done by injecting healthy genes into the retina and can have a significant impact on the development of children.

Four children from #America, #Turkey and #Tunisia participated in this study, and only one eye of each child was treated. The results showed that their vision improved, while the untreated eye became weaker.

Professor James Benbridge, #Stopian surgeon and #ophthalmologist at Morfields Hospital in London, considers the treatment an important change and believes that early intervention can transform children's social development and interaction. Further studies are being conducted to evaluate the long -term effects of this method.
